Turning 40, and reaching an age his father never did, has given comedian and actor Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen, Taskmaster) a reason to take his health more seriously. Over the course of a year, he swaps show business for a local gym and commits to the demanding world of mixed martial arts training.
The training is tough, but Guz’s interest soon reaches beyond his own fitness. Seeing how many Muslim fighters have reached the highest levels of MMA, he starts asking what role faith plays in their success. That question takes him to UFC headquarters in Las Vegas and into conversations with Muslim athletes about how belief shapes the way they train, compete, and live beyond the cage.
Along the way, a challenge that began with fitness becomes more personal. Guz gets up close to elite competition while considering how faith, masculinity, fatherhood, and grief shape him at this point in his life.
